Kidder County clubbed three home runs en route to a 12-7 Region 8 victory over Hazen on Monday in Class B baseball action.
Ben Steinolfson belted a three-run shot in the bottom of the first as part of an eight-run opening frame. Matt Gross, who had three hits, added a solo homer in the fourth inning.
Carrington remained unbeaten at 6-0 with a 12-3 non-region victory over New Rockford-Sheyenne on Thursday in Class B baseball action.
Four Cardinals had two hits or more as they scored at least twice in all four of their at-bats.
Patrick Freeman and Easton Paeper each tallied three hits as Carrington downed Midkota 15-8 in a non-region game on Saturday in Carrington.
The Cardinals rallied from a four-run deficit after Midkota scored five runs in the third. They tied it in the bottom half added a total of 10 runs the next two innings.
Harvey-Wells County’s pitching staff of Austan Schmidt, Todd Selzer and London Littlefield combined to strike out 15 batters as they one-hit Dunseith to win 21-0 in five innings in Harvey on Tuesday.
Schmidt started the game and got the win. The Hornets broke things open with a 16-run bottom of the third, while the visiting Dragons committed six errors in the game.
Standout North Star guard to sign with Jimmies Jacob Hagler ran the show for a North Star team that went to five Region 4 championship games and three state tournaments including winning a state championship as a sophomore.
