Even with the lower expected crest, Edgewood golf course couldn't hold back the Red. On Sunday, the course had patchy flooding, mostly around the ponds on Nos. 8 and 9 visible from the clubhouse.

Tiger Woods spoke for some 20 minutes about the state of his game, belly putters, the U.S. Open and the AT&T National. As he was wrapping up, he needed just one word to cover the topic of Sergio Garcia.
Asked if he had any thought of contacting Garcia to make amends between the two, Woods quickly answered: “No.” He smiled. Nearly everyone else in the room laughed.

The Blue Jay boys golf team didn’t disappoint on its home golf course on Friday.
Jamestown posted its best team finish of the season, rifling off a score of 316 — second to only Bismarck Century’s 312 — during the Jamestown High School Invitational at Jamestown Country Club.

The Players Championship already provides plenty of theater because of its thrill-a-minute golf course. Making it even more compelling is the star attraction of Sergio Garcia and Tiger Woods, playing in the final group on the weekend for the first time in nearly seven years.
Tiger Woods was nine shots out of the lead, not the best position at The Players Championship, especially since he had not even started his round. Perhaps the bigger surprise was the guy who posted the record-tying round Thursday.
The Hillcrest Ladies Golf Association held its first meeting May 7.
Contest winners were Arlene Rexine, longest drive (No. 9); Joyce Heinrich, closest to the pin (No. 7); Courtney Haag, closest second shot to the pin (No. 2). Cheryl Davis won the door prize.
The women’s golfers at North Dakota State say they’re often pegged as members of a winter sports team, given the fact that most of them are measured in the 5-foot-10 range and look like they haven’t seen the sun. Turns out they haven’t.
