Special events

Jake Star Festival, LaMoure County Memorial Park near Grand Rapids. Entertainment includes Alexis Barnick, Whiskey 7, Junk FM, Jeremiah James Korfe, Crankshaft and the Gear Grinders, Children’s games, car show, food vendors, more. Admission: $35.

Pipestem Creek Trail Run, Pipestem Creek Trail. Registration, 8 a.m.; race, 9 a.m. Registration fee: $15, adults, $10 children.

Kulm Windfest events in Kulm include airplane rides, 5K run/walk, craft vendors, kiddie parade (9:30 a.m.), parade (10 a.m.), lawn mower races, truck pull, kiddie carnival, inflatable games, music, street dance.

Sunday, Aug. 17

Special events

20th Annual Sweet Corn Feed, 4:30 to 7 p.m., Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1403 9th Ave SE. Also serving Bar-B-Ques, pickles and desserts. All-you-can-eat at $10 per person, with consideration for families. Entertainment by Spiritwood Creek Band and Friends.

Ice Cream Social, 2 to 4 p.m., Stutsman County Memorial Museum, 321 3rd Ave. SE. Ice cream with cake and cookies, root beer floats will be available for no charge. David Morlock will lead the annual sing-along.

“The Pied Piper,” a Missoula Children’s Theater production involving local children, 3 and 5 p.m., Jamestown High School. Admission charge: a donation.
