Anytime Fitness topic at Kiwanis

Becca Spenningsby introduced Matt Eggl, the owner of Anytime Fitness. He is originally from Cando, N.D. He took over ownership of the business in Jamestown in February 2002. It is located in the Buffalo Mall, right next to JC Penney. It is open 24 hours a day and there are 2,500 locations — 600 internationally. Eggl showed a video about what they do at Anytime Fitness. They are there to help and keep people motivated. When people join Anytime Fitness, they can use their memberships anywhere there is another center.

The top five diseases that are helped with fitness is 1) high blood pressure 2) diabetes 3) high cholesterol 4) osteoporosis and 5) arthritis. With exercise, people can increase their energy, sleep better, relieve stress and tone up and be more flexible.

Anytime Fitness has a flat rate of $39.95 a month. Some insurances will pay $20 a month if the participant attends 12 times in that month. A family plan costs $74.95.

President Janna Bergstedt led the meeting with 19 members attending. Lt. Mitch Brecto led the group singing accompanied by Tim Burchill. Jan Barnes collected “Happy Dollars” for new song books.

It was noted that Kids Against Hunger will be held at the Buffalo Mall on April 5. There will be no meeting on Feb. 17 as it is Presidents Day.
