Jamestown Lions note future events

The regular meeting of the Jamestown Lions Club was called to order May 7 by First Vice President Kathy Clemens. Sue Stoudt led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance, and Shelley Nannenga was song leader for the evening. Harold Trautman led the group in prayer.

The next meeting on May 21 will be the Lions Club’s final meeting of the year. Installation of officers and initiation of new members will also take place at the next meeting.

Treasurer Mitzi Hager provided a financial report on the 26th Annual Buffalo Feed held in April. The help of many volunteers in the community, including the Knights of Columbus where the event was held, was discussed and acknowledged.

The State Lions Convention will be Oct. 17-18 in Jamestown. Discussion on the committee structure and the involvement of each of the members in that structure was discussed and reviewed.

The upcoming multi-district convention that will be held May 30-31 in Watertown, South Dakota, was also discussed. Five members of the Jamestown Lions Club will be in attendance at that event.

The Jamestown Lions Club meets at 6 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of each month from September through May. Visitors and prospective members are welcome to attend the meetings.
