JRMC CEO speaks at Kiwanis; two inducted

Jeff Wiedenmeyer introduced K. C. DeBoer, the CEO of Jamestown Regional Medical Center, at the recent Kiwanis meeting. DeBoer is coming from Avera St. Lukes in Aberdeen, S.D. He is married, has three children and has been in Kiwanis for 20 years.

A brief overview was given on what the hospital has done and what it plans to do in the future. Its organizational goals for 2015 are: 1) Quality 2) Service 3) People 4) Finance 5) Growth.

They have just gone through the Epic conversion, which is a health information record system update that all the clinics are using.

They are striving to develop direct access to physical therapy without a doctor’s order, and they are working with the Roger Maris Center to offer cancer care in Jamestown.

President Janna Bergstedt led the meeting with 30 members attending. Don Caine led the group singing accompanied by Sharon Caine. Don Bentz collected “Happy Dollars” for Eliminate.

Beginning Aug. 4, the meetings will be at the Quality Inn & Suites on a trial basis for six weeks. It will then be decided where the club will meet indefinitely.
