The North Dakota Home School Association’s 29th annual Christian Home Educators Convention will begin Thursday and run through Saturday at the Jamestown Civic Center. The theme of the convention is “Building Solid Foundations” and speakers will address building strong family relationships through biblical training, love and forgiveness.

The keynote speaker is Phil Downer, president of the Discipleship Network of America. Downer, director of church ministry for DNA, will also be a featured speaker.

Workshops will focus on issues and challenges of home-school students and educators. Workshops include “Challenges of a Homeschool Graduate,” “Creating a History Timeline,” “When Grandparents Don’t Support Homeschooling” and “Special Needs Laws and Legislation,” among other topics.

JandY Ministries will speak at the children’s program. JandY is comprised of the husband-and-wife team of John and Ynita Swomley who use biblical teachings as well as comedy, puppets and balloons to answer questions like: “What happened to the dinosaurs?” and “Are there aliens?”
