De La Hunt given ROTC scholarship
Ryan De La Hunt has received an Air Force ROTC (Reserve Officers’ Training Corps) scholarship. Scholarships are awarded on a merit system in areas such as academic achievement, extracurricular activities, physical fitness, specific performance or accomplishment, leadership abilities and personal interviews.
The scholarship entitlements include tuition and fees and an allowance of $600 per semester for educational assistance, textbooks, supplies and equipment, and a monthly stipend for up to 10 months of each school year during the first year at the host college or university.
Upon graduation from the host college and completion of the ROTC program, the student cadet receives a bachelor’s degree and a commission of second lieutenant in the Air Force. All scholarship students incur a military service obligation of eight years, which may be fulfilled by either serving on active duty or in the Reserve Components of the Air Force.
De La Hunt is the son of David and Joleen De La Hunt of Park Rapids, Minn., and grandson of John and Patti Graham of New Rockford, N.D.
He is a 2014 graduate of Park Rapids Area High School, Park Rapids, Minn.
