OK Club holds meeting
The OK Club met at noon Oct. 3 at the Legacy Center with 10 members present. President Marlys Boughton opened the meeting and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Janet Van Bruggen read “Lessons from a Sunflower.”
Boughton announced the death of a former OK Club member, Erna Buchholz, on Oct. 1. Her funeral was on Oct. 5 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
The secretary and treasurer’s reports were approved as read.
DeLette Winkelman won the drawing for the meal ticket door prize. At the group’s next meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 17, members are asked to wear something in Halloween colors or decorations.
Bingo was played with Gerald Van Bruggen winning the small-picture frame, and Elaine Heinrich won the large frame and the blackout games. In whist, Boughton won high prize, Gall won low, and Winkelman took a trick with a deuce. In pinochle, Heinrich won high, and Janet Van Bruggen won low.
Heinrich furnished the afternoon lunch on the date of her 91st birthday on Oct. 3.
The next OK Club meeting will be at noon Tuesday, Oct. 17, at the Legacy Center in Jamestown. Guests are welcome.
