JRMC Auxiliary holds meeting
Jamestown Regional Medical Center Auxiliary met Nov. 6 at the hospital.
Lynn Tally of Safe Shelter and Mary’s House was the guest speaker, showing the plan for Mary’s House and what an addition it will be for the shelter and Jamestown.
President Eunice Sahr called the meeting to order. There were 30 attendees with one guest, Lynn Struble. The prayer was read by LaRue Odenbach. A correction was made to the October minutes to change spelling of Lynn Tally from Lynn Talley. A thank you from the Dean Neustel family was read.
Betty Geigle reported on Holiday Magic that will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Dec. 1 in the lower level at the hospital. The brochures are available to post. Baked goods, unmarked, can be brought the prior Thursday afternoon or Friday morning. The foundation office will be doing Tree of Love and selling hearts at Holiday Magic. The tree will be set up on Nov. 7, and gold and silver hearts will each be $10.
Shirley Fleith, Stitchers, noted that she received six blankets, 40-plus pillows, four caps and 15 hospice blankets were tied. Sunshine sent three cards, and Telecare is calling six individuals. Jeanette Srozinski also asked that members bring six cookies for the Telecare client’s cookie trays.
Four individuals attended the Oct. 3 District I Fall Conference in Fargo. Carly Sanders of Wishek is the new District I chair.
The foundation report was given by LaRue Odenbach. Cindy Grimm, nominating committee, announced that Lue Struble is stepping down as treasurer and Carol Lawrence has agreed to be nominated for the position. Vice President Marlene Axtman will be gone January through March and Cindy Grimm will fill in for her.
Mary Engels, volunteer coordinator, thanked volunteers Srozinski, Lawrence and Marlys Perleberg, who helped at the Nov. 5 bazaar. The profit was $298, but more importantly, she said, the gift shop was publicized. She also thanked the volunteers who worked on the No Excuses Day – Mary Gainsforth, Bonnie Allickson, Judy Hoyt, Lynell Madsoe and Shirley Fleith. She also reminded everyone to get their flu shots.
The door prize was won by Lawrence. The Auxiliary Executive Board will meet on Dec. 28 at 1 p.m. The auxiliary meets at 1:30 p.m. the first Monday of the month at Jamestown Regional Medical Center in the lower level conference rooms. Visitors and prospective members are always welcome.
