SCARTA meets in January
The Jan. 23 meeting of the Stutsman County Area Retired Teachers was called to order by Vice President Peg Schlenke. Kathy Wager introduced her guest, Mary Jo Stewart. Schlenker led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Under old business, Schlenker thanked members who rang the bell for the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign. She handed out an updated telephone directory/list of convention committees. The list continues to be updated.
Under new business, the president has checked with Janet Well and she will be chairman for the scholarship committee again for 2018. More information on that will come at a later meeting.
The group will not have a February meeting but will get together on Feb. 27 for convention committees to work on convention details. The next regular meeting will be March 27.
After lunch, Annette Niemeier and Kim Lee from Central Valley Health District gave a program on senior health. They discussed what things they do and what people should be aware of as they age.
