Tally speaks on shelter at Rotary
Lynn Tally from the Safe Shelter spoke at the recent Rotary Club meeting. Safe Shelter has served survivors of domestic and sexual violence for more than 35 years; it has also recently added human trafficking survivors. Their goal is to provide a place for people to heal and plan, a place for children to feel safe and a place to build hope for the future. Tally also gave an update on the new shelter “Mary’s Place,” which is under construction. The project is expected to be completed at the end of June.
President Erin Paulson welcomed attendees, Joan Morris gave the table blessing, Gail Martin and Mark Reeves led the group in songs, and Larry Kopp collected “Happy Dollars” for Rotary projects. National Honor Society student guest was Karly Bennett from Jamestown High School.
Duane Dunn will introduce today’s program, Carrie Orn will give the table blessing, Rick Pfeiffer will lead singing, and Larry Hoffman will be sergeant-at-arms. Rotary meets at 12:10 p.m Tuesdays at the Quality Inn & Suites.
