Ypsilanti club to meet Tuesday
The Ypsilanti 50+ Club met Feb. 13 at the Legacy Center in Jamestown. The group enjoyed the noon meal together before the business meeting. President Harriet Lien presided over the meeting. The secretary’s and treasurer’s reports were read and accepted. The group voted to reinburse Lien for a new key for the club.
Detective LeRoy Gross from the Jamestown Police Department talked to the group about scams. He said, “If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.” He gave many examples of ways that people lost money. Attendees were told never to wire cash upon request or never deposit a check and write the person or company another check. Their check may bounce and you will lose your money and be charged for the check.
The next meeting will be at noon March 13 at the Legacy Center in Jamestown. Guest speaker Diane Carlson will tell about “Life as a Female Farmer.”
The nurse will not be coming this month.
