FARGO—Friends and family, this week, will celebrate the life of Grant Heim, and his courageous battle with cancer.

Heim passed away Friday, after a six year battle with a muscular cancer.

Above is a video of Grant in 2011, shortly after the then 14-year- old was diagnosed.

Heim made a Make-A-Wish trip in 2014. The avid wake boarder got to meet Dean Smith, a professional in the sport. The two remained friends until Heim's passing.

Heim graduated from Fargo North High in 2015, and went to UND, and studied occupational therapy. He was just 20 years old.

The funeral is Wednesday at Hope Lutheran Church, North Campus, at 10 in the morning.
