A Ford F-150 pickup driven by Michael Rameden, 22, of Ray, was southbound on Williams County Road 5 when it ran the stop sign at the junction of U.S. Highway 2, the patrol said.

The pickup ran directly into the driver’s side of a Kenworth tandem axle dump truck that was headed on Highway 2 at 65 miles per hour, authorities said. The crash was just before 6 a.m. Sunday about 13 miles west of Williston.

Rameden and passenger Kyle Keller, 22, Bismarck, were ejected and died on the scene, the Highway Patrol said. A third passenger, Blaze Unruh, 24, Bismarck, was seriously injured and airlifted to Trinity Hospital in Minot.

The men were not wearing seat belts, the Highway Patrol said.

The driver of the dump truck, Michael Lavigne of Moosic, Pa., was not hurt, authorities said.
