Advisory committee on traumatic brain injury services to meet Aug. 4

The North Dakota Department of Human Services’ Traumatic Brain Injury Advisory Committee, which works to improve the quality of life of people with brain injuries and their families, will hold its quarterly meeting from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday, using video conference sites in Bismarck, Devils Lake, Fargo, Grand Forks and Minot.

The agenda includes updates on the North Dakota Brain Injury Network, HIT Inc.’s services for people with brain injuries, and Community Options Inc.’s pre-vocational skills service that helps people with brain injuries explore jobs, develop job skills and be prepared for work. The department will also provide an update, and committee members will discuss the study the North Dakota Legislative Management’s interim Human Services Committee is conducting of a comprehensive system of care for people with brain injury. Committee members include legislators, advocates, providers, individuals affected by traumatic brain injury, family members of people affected by a traumatic brain injury, and representatives of the North Dakota Department of Human Services, North Dakota Department of Health, North Dakota Department of Public Instruction, North Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Fargo VA Health Care System.
