Areas hit by storm still without power
Slope Electric Cooperative linemen and contractors are continuing to focus on getting power back on in the Cedar Butte, Mott and Haynes substations after the snowstorm that came through southwest North Dakota last Friday.
The cooperative reported Thursday morning that more than 70 contractors and linemen from neighboring co-ops are working alongside Slope Electric workers to help restore power.
Slope Electric estimates it lost between 600 and 700 poles in the storm, which has kept some people without power for more than a week. The cooperative said some people may not have power restored until next week.
