BBC America has handed a third season renewal to its critically acclaimed series, “Orphan Black.” The announcement was made during the Television Critics Association press tour on Wednesday.

The series will go back into production in September to return in the spring.

The renewal follows the award-winning thriller's highly-watched second season. Its premiere episode doubled in total viewers versus the previous season's debut.

Co-created by Graeme Manson and John Fawcett, “Orphan Black” is produced by Temple Street Productions in association with BBC America and Space.
