A cold shooting night did in the Jimmies on Wednesday.

The University of Jamestown shot just 31 percent against Minot State and the NCAA Division II Beavers registered an 85-67 win in the MSU Dome.

The game was an exhibition affair for the No. 10 Jimmies, so it did not count toward their win-loss record.

Carly Boag poured in 29 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and had three blocked shots and three steals for the 3-0 Beavers, who are picked to finish near the top in the 16-team NSIC this season.

Despite the off shooting, the Jimmies tied the game at 53-all on a 3-pointer from Carly Jensen early in the second half.

But the Beavers slowly pulled away. They made 27 of 35 free throw attempts and 27 of 51 from the field.

Jensen regained her shooting touch after a couple of off games, sinking five of seven 3-pointers en route to 18 points.

Hannah Steele was also in double figures with 13 points and two assists, while Jessica Buck followed with 10.

The Jimmies took 31 free throws, but missed 10, as 52 fouls were whistled in the game.

Up next is another exhibition game against another D-II team Saturday in Sioux Falls, S.D., against Augustana. The Jimmies next game that counts is Wednesday at the Civic Center against Dickinson State.
