Bismarck woman dies in crash
A 19-year-old Bismarck woman died in a crash at 10:50 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of N.D. Highway 13 and U.S. Highway 83, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The woman, whose name has not yet been released, was driving west at the intersection and failed to negotiate a turn onto U.S. 83. The vehicle crossed U.S. 83 and proceeded into the west ditch. It appears that the driver attempted to avoid a tree and went off an embankment, with the vehicle going end over end to land on its roof in a slough approximately 3 feet deep.
The driver and her passenger, a 15-year-old male from Hazen, N.D., whose name has also not been released, were transported to Linton (N.D.) Hospital via Linton Ambulance. Linton Fire and Rescue assisted at the Scene.
Neither was wearing seat belts.
The crash remains under investigation.
