The Medina Blaze 14U and 18U girls softball teams won the state Junior Olympic slow pitch softball tournament championships in Jamestown last week. It was the second straight championship for the Blaze 14U team. On Saturday, they defeated Langdon (14-6), Beulah (13-10), Harvey (11-8) and Lidgerwood (10-2). On Sunday, the Blaze 18U defeated Langdon (11-2), Beulah (19-5), Harvey (11-8) and Lidgerwood (10-2). Blaze team members consist of players from Medina, Pingree, Buchanan, Woodworth and Jamestown.
