Blue Jays beat Dickinson, earn trip to 'AAA' playoffs
Jamestown defeated Dickinson 17-13 to clinch its first trip to the Class AAA football playoffs since 2008.
The Blue Jays scored two touchdowns in 30 seconds in the second quarter and made it stand up.
Quarterback Ross Monson and wide receiver Joey Gebhardt connected for a 33-yard score. On Dickinson's next offensive play, the Blue Jays forced a fumble and Caleb Ellingson scooped and scored from 30 yards out.
Ben Hanson had a 34-yard field goal and two extra-point kicks in the victory.
The Blue Jays also clinched a winning regular season with the victory as they are now 5-3. Jamestown closes out the regular season at home Friday against Fargo North.
The Blue Jays will play the No. 1 seed from the East in the opening round of the playoffs Friday, Nov. 1.
