* Bravo to the Anne Carlsen Center, which was named an Apple Distinguished School. The center received the award for its use of iPads as adaptive technology and its international reputation for being innovators in the field. This is the second time the ACC has received the award.

* Bravo to those people, organizations and businesses that have helped Brent and Junette Nelson after a fire destroyed their home south of Eldridge on Nov. 23.

* Buffalo chip to the vandal or vandals who damaged windows at eight businesses late Nov. 29 or early Nov. 30. Windows and vehicle windows were damaged at the businesses.
