Burlesque performer complains about stripper law
Jamestown North Dakota 121 3rd St NW 58401

WEST FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A burlesque performer wants an exemption to a proposed West Fargo city ordinance that requires adult entertainers to obtain a license.

Gennifer Christianson says the law that's meant to regulate strippers and escorts is not fair to legitimate performers who have nudity in their acts.

She says that although burlesque performances can be risque, they are not necessarily tawdry and not meant to encourage anything illegal.

The Forum newspaper reports (http://bit.ly/197HsUh) that the law will be reviewed by the North Dakota attorney general before it can be considered by the West Fargo city commission.
