Carrington had an impressive first day at the Class B state wrestling tournament on Thursday, despite being dealt some bad news.

The Cardinals throttled Watford City 76-6 in the opening round of the state dual tournament in Bismarck, right after hearing that heavyweight Bradee Schroeder didn’t pass skin checks. That result means the freshman with a 31-12 record who was seeded fourth won’t get to wrestle all weekend.
