Chili Cook-off Contest is March 8
The Buffalo Mall is sponsoring its ninth annual Chili Cook-off Contest from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 8 in the Buffalo Mall commons area. Proceeds from the contest will go to the James River Meals on Wheels program.
Community business leaders will have the opportunity to promote their business by entering their chili. A booth will be set up for the business at no charge.
For $5, customers will have the chance to taste all of the chili entries and cast their vote for the best chili in Jamestown. Customers will be provided with a wrist band or stamp. Any additional votes are $1 per vote. Contestants can also cast their vote for the best chili for a $1 per vote.
Participants in the contest should cook their chili off-site. Each participant should bring a minimum of two large crock pots of chili for tasting purposes. An electrical outlet will be proved to keep the chili warm. Participants should bring their own extension cord. Cups, napkins, spoons and voting jars will be provided by the Buffalo Mall.
