Ninth-ranked LaMoure-Litchville-Marion notched its first win of the season with a 70-36 rout of Lisbon in Class B basketball action Thursday night.

Brady Thielges and Anthony Olson had matching 18-point games for the Loboes, while Drew Thielges added 13 points. Olson flirted with a triple-double with nine rebounds and seven steals.

Colten Fleck was the lone Bronco in double figures with 13 points.

Ramsey Co. Tournament

Four Winds-Minnewaukan, Benson County, North Star and Rolette-Wolford all survived the first round of the Ramsey County boys basketball tournament in Devils Lake on Thursday.

Trayvon McKay led No. 2-ranked Four Winds-Minnewaukan past the Devils Lake JV with a game-high 22 points. The Indians didn’t hit a three-pointer in the game.

Benson County’s Patrick Frise drilled a pair of 3s and scored a game-high 15 points during the Wildcats’ 60-34 victory over Munich-Starkweather.

North Star received a big night from freshman Johnny Heisler. Heisler hit five 3-pointers and scored 23 points to lead the Bearcats past Dakota Prairie 65-49.

Rolette-Wolford’s Casey Julson and Nick Myhre led the Comets with 20 and 18 points, respectively, helping their team take down Lakota-Edmore 68-58.

The semifinals start today at 6 p.m. at the Devils Lake Sports Center with Four Winds-Minnewaukan facing Benson County and North Star squaring off against Rolette-Wolford.

Wrestling Carrington 56, Valley City 21

The Cardinal wrestling team made quick work of Valley City in Carrington on Thursday night.

The Cards picked up 7 total pins — 5 of which were first-period pins — en route to defeating the Hi-Liner’s 56-21. Carrington won nine of 13 contested matches, as the Hi-Liners were open at 132 pounds.

Carrington flexed its muscles in the lower weight classes, with Matthew Neumiller (113 pounds), Bryce Carr (120), Joe Bakke (126), Patrick Freeman (138) and Walker Carr (145) all pinning their respective opponents in the first 2 minutes.
