Dakota ranch sets Pigs 'n a Blanket

Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch will hold its 11th annual Pigs 'n a Blanket event Saturday, at Davies High School, located at 7150 25th St. S, Fargo. The event schedule has changed to include a luncheon.

A quilt preview is at 10 a.m., lunch is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the live quilt auction is at noon.

Lunch tickets will be paid at the door. The cost is $7 per person and $15 for families of three or more. Children ages 3 and under get in free. The lunch includes roast pork, salads, buns and desserts.

The event will feature more than 100 quilts from individuals, guilds and churches across the nation.

Music will be provided by Cat Sank Trio and there will be door prizes. This year's volunteer auctioneer is Jim Smykowski.

The Ranch raised more than $31,500 in its three auctions held in Fargo, Bismarck and Minot in 2012. Proceeds from the lunch and auction will help fund programs for the community's children who are at risk with emotional and behavioral issues. The Ranch is a non-profit Christian organization, which helps at-risk children and their families succeed in the name of Christ.
