A self-propelled sprayer-pickup truck accident at 4:12 p.m. Wednesday caused more than $20,200 damage and a minor injury, according to the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office.


Wade Readel, 39, Jamestown, was driving a 2014 John Deere self-propelled sprayer west on 24th Street Southeast, approaching the intersection with 73rd Avenue Southeast, about 20 miles northwest of Jamestown.

Curtis Krapp, 27, Pinegree, was driving a 2012 Dodge pickup truck north on 73rd Avenue Southeast, approaching the intersection with 24th Street Southeast.

According to the sheriff’s office report, Readel was making a left turn onto 73rd Avenue Southeast, was distract by another vehicle approaching from the east and struck the Dodge that Krapp was driving.

Krapp wore a seat belt. The report said Krapp received a minor injury and declined medical treatment at the scene.

Damage was estimated at $200 for the John Deere and $20,000 for the Dodge.

No citations were issued.
