Death reported in highway collision

ARNEGARD, N.D. — A 35-year-old Williston man was killed Sunday night after losing control of the car he was driving on icy U.S. Highway 85 near Arnegard, in McKenzie County.

Franklin A. Mundo was driving westbound toward Arnegard when he lost control of the 1998 Ford Taurus he was driving and slid sideways into westbound traffic, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Lyle S. Sasse, 43, of Vancouver, Wash., was driving a 2011 Ford pickup that struck the Taurus on the passenger side. The pickup driver suffered minor injuries.
