DeVillers, Keating elected to HOF

  Greg DeVillers of the Grand Forks Herald and Dan Keating of KMAV radio in Mayville have have been elected to the North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association Hall of Fame.

Keating and DeVillers in recent voting each received at least 75 percent approval —the threshold for induction.

DeVillers, a 1973 Kensal High School graduate, has been a sportswriter at the Herald since 1975, covering high school sports. He’s a six-time winner of the North Dakota Sportswriter of the Year award and was a finalist for the award several other times.

Keating has broadcast more than 6,500 games in his radio career. He started working radio in North Dakota in 1981 and worked at stations in Grafton, Williston, Devils Lake and since 1993 has been at KMAV, which his family now owns. He has been North Dakota Sportscaster of the Year five times.

Their selection increases the number of NDAPSSA hall of fame members to 21 since it began in 1987.
