Driver caught going wrong way on I-94
CASSELTON, N.D. — A driver who made it all the way to a construction zone on the interstate near Casselton after getting on it the wrong way in West Fargo was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
North Dakota Highway Patrol Sgt. Luke Hendrickson said the driver, Eugene Quinnett, 32, of Fargo, got on Interstate 94 at the Main Avenue exit in West Fargo about 11 p.m. and drove west in the eastbound lanes at a very high rate of speed until getting to a construction zone in the Casselton area.
That’s where Quinnett crashed his 2005 Cadillac CTS into some construction signs, said Hendrickson, and then a barrier.
Quinnett wasn’t wearing his seat belt and was injured. The car also sustained severe front-end damage, estimated at $5,000.
Quinnett was taken to Essentia hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, then arrested for driving under the influence.
