Fargo investment broker charged in theft
FARGO, N.D. (AP) -- A Fargo investment broker ordered to stop doing business in North Dakota about six months ago has now been charged with bilking a married couple out of more than $250,000.
The Forum newspaper reports that two counts of Class B felony theft have been filed against Robert Henry Medhus in Cass County District Court.
If convicted, the 65-year-old Medhus could face up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine for each charge.
An investigative report by the state Securities Department alleges that Medhus forged checks made out to the couple and deposited them into his account for his personal use.
