FCCU raises funds for cause
During each quarter of 2013, First Community Credit Union has held fundraisers for different worthy organizations. The third quarter fundraising organization, as chosen by FCCU staff, was Out of the Darkness for suicide prevention. Collectively, more than $1,000 was raised for Out of the Darkness.
External fundraising included offering donation pinups of names that people paid $1 for which were then displayed at the branch locations.
FCCU employees also participated in community walks for Out of the Darkness in Bismarck, Fargo and Valley City to show their support. Internal fundraisers within FCCU included Jeans Fridays and an FCCU clothing raffle.
Out of the Darkness is an event put on by The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, the leading national not-for-profit organization exclusively dedicated to understanding and preventing suicide through research, education and advocacy. This organization also reaches out to people with mental disorders and those impacted by suicide.
First Community Credit Union will begin fundraising this month for their fourth quarter charity, Children’s Miracle Network.
