Fort Ransom to hold meeting on plan
The North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department is holding a public input meeting on its master plan update for Fort Ransom State Park at 7 p.m. April 15 in the Sheyenne Valley Arts and Crafts building located on Main Street of Fort Ransom.
Established in 1978, the park’s development followed a master plan document completed in the early 1980s. To update the master plan the North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department formed a citizens’ advisory committee to gather local input regarding park development and operation. In addition, an online survey was available for the public to provide more detailed information.
Information received from the advisory committee, public survey and the department’s own assessment, along with recommended changes, improvements or initiatives developed by agency staff and the project consultant, will be presented at the April 15 meeting in Fort Ransom. Public review and comments on the master plan update will be taken during the meeting. A draft final master plan is expected later this spring.
