Funding approved for Wishek project

The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced this week it has approved funding for rural development projects in North Dakota, said Rep. Kevin Cramer, R-N.D.

The Wishek Hospital Clinic Association received $715,000 in loans that will be used to replace boilers and remove fuel oil tanks.

“Rural communities are the backbone of North Dakota and the funding provided by the USDA Rural Development Program is critical to ensuring these areas have the resources necessary to improve infrastructure and other essential public services in their towns,” Cramer said.

USDA Rural Development is an agency tasked with helping improve the economy and quality of life in rural America. The agency’s financial programs support public services such as water and sewer systems, housing, health clinics, emergency service facilities and electric and telephone service.
