Troske pleads guilty to murdering Pingree man, shooting New Rockford woman

Grafton woman shot during break-in

GRAFTON, N.D. — A woman was shot in the leg during a break-in at her home Tuesday morning in Grafton, police said.

Her injuries were not life-threatening.

Assistant Police Chief Anthony Dumas said no one had been arrested, but investigators have identified a “person of interest.” Police do not believe that person and the victim knew each other, Dumas said.

“We don’t feel the public is in any imminent danger,” he said.

Officers arrived at the house about 11:10 a.m. and found the homeowner with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The state Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Walsh County Sheriff’s Office, the state Highway Patrol and U.S. Border Patrol have been working with Grafton police on the investigation.

Grafton, a town of 4,300, is about 40 miles by road from Grand Forks.
