Hospitality home in the works in Grand Forks
GRAND FORKS (AP) -- The Sunshine Memorial Foundation in Grand Forks is raising $5 million for a hospitality home in the regional health care hub.
Altru Health System draws patients from a large area, but there's no hospitality home in the city where family members of those patients can stay. Fundraising for the Sunshine Hospitality Home began a year ago, and Executive Director Donovan Larson tells the Grand Forks Herald officials hope to have all the money raised this year.
Construction would then begin in spring 2014, with the home opening in fall 2015. It would be on Altru's main campus, and would have 20-30 beds in 10-12 rooms. Altru is a lead donor.
The home's appearance and location are to be unveiled Saturday at the foundation's Sunshine Fest at Ralph Engelstad Arena.
