Intern program topic of YPJ meeting

The Young Professionals of Jamestown will hold its next Community Soup and Substance program from noon to 1 p.m. Nov. 21.

“Operation Intern, Developing North Dakota’s Workforce” is the topic, presented by Ryan Volk, program administrator with the North Dakota Department of Commerce. Learn about the North Dakota Department of Commerce Operation Intern program.

Operation Intern is designed to expand the number of new internship, work experience and apprenticeship positions with North Dakota employers.

North Dakota businesses looking for interns can receive up to $3,000 in matching funds by tapping an underused pool of candidates: college students. The program offers private businesses up to $30,000 every two years to fund internships in their company.

The program includes lunch. The cost is $5 for the public and free for Young Professionals members.

Seating is limited. To register, RSVP to Lisa Hicks, 252-4830 or email lisa@jamestownchamber.com.
