Dec. 21: 12:14 p.m., ready squad responded to 419 5th St. NE, Legacy Center, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was detected. Cause: cooking. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 40 minutes.

Dec. 23: 11:16 a.m., ready squad responded to 222 1st Ave. S., multi-family dwelling, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was detected. Cause: detector malfunction. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 40 minutes.

Dec. 26: 6:23 p.m., fire department responded to 2605 Circle Drive, North Dakota State Hospital-Lahaug Building, fire department was cancelled en route; there was no fire/smoke reported. Cause: fire drill. Time out: 30 minutes.

Dec. 27: 4:05 p.m., ready squad responded to 1300 2nd Place NE, Eventide Hi-Acres, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was detected. Cause: faulty detector. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 20 minutes.

Dec. 28: fire department responded to 1600 11th Ave. NE Apt 21, multi-family dwelling, to a report of smoke in the structure. No fire; firefighters extracted smoke and investigated. Cause: unattended cooking. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 40 minutes.

Dec. 28: ready squad responded to 1810 26th Ave. SW, Titan Machinery, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was detected. Cause: systems malfunction. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 25 minutes.

Dec. 29: fire department responded to 201 2nd St. SE, First Congregational Church of Christ, to a report of person(s) trapped in the elevator. Firefighters removed three people from the elevator. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 20 minutes.

Dec. 30: fire department responded to 702 4th Ave. SE, single-family dwelling, to a report of an oven range fire. Fire was out upon arrival of fire units; firefighters extracted smoke and investigated. Cause: cooking. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 10 minutes.

Jan. 2: 9:11 a.m., fire department responded to 901 1st Ave. S, parking lot, to report of a vehicle on fire. On arrival of fire units it appeared the vehicle was smoking. No fire. Cause: overheated vehicle engine. No injuries. Time out: 20 minutes.

Jan. 2: 10 a.m., ready squad responded to 602 15th St. NW, single-family dwelling, to investigate carbon monoxide detector activation. Firefighters analyzed for carbon monoxide and 160 ppm was detected. Firefighters advised occupants to have gas fired equipment serviced by a qualified firm or individual. Cause: heater in garage malfunction. Time out: 25 minutes.
