Jamestown Fire Department calls Jan. 2-9:

Jan. 3: 6:39 p.m., ready squad responded to 1426 7th Ave. NE, single family dwelling, to investigate carbon monoxide detector activation. Firefighters analyzed for carbon monoxide and 12 ppm was detected. Firefighters advised occupants to have gas-fired equipment serviced by a qualified firm or individual. Cause: gas appliance malfunction. Time out: 25 minutes.

Jan: 4: 6:29 p.m., fire department responded to 1409 3rd Ave. NW, single family dwelling, to report of a fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire and investigated. Cause: un-determined. No injuries were reported. Time out: 5 hours and 20 minutes.

Jan. 5: 10:05 a.m., fire department responded to 1409 3rd Ave. NW, single family dwelling, to report of smoke. Firefighters checked the structure and no fire. Cause: steam. No injuries were reported. Time out: 35 minutes.

Jan. 6: 5:23 p.m., ready squad responded to 903 Western Park Village, single family dwelling, to investigate smoke and odor. Firefighters checked the structure found smoke and requested additional firefighters. Time out: 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Jan. 6: 5:37 p.m., ready squad responded to 513 18th St. SW, multi-family dwelling, to investigate smoke smell. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was detected. Cause: burnt food. Time out: 35 minutes.

Jan. 6: 5:43 p.m., fire department responded to 903 Western Park Village, single family dwelling, smoke in structure. Firefighters extinguished smoldering embers. Cause: plumber’s torch thawing frozen water pipes. No injuries reported. Time out: 1 hour.

Jan. 7: 4:49 a.m., ready squad responded to 2700 8th Ave. SW, Hampton Inn, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters requested additional firefighters due to report of smoke. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 30 minutes.

Jan. 7: 4:51 a.m., fire department responded to 2700 8th Ave. SW, Hampton Inn, to a report of smoke. Firefighters found no smoke/fire and investigated. Cause: broken water pipe. No injuries reported. Time out: 30 minutes.

Jan. 7: 6:48 a.m., ready squad responded to 1317 Business Loop East, Alpha Opportunities, to a report of a gas smell. Firefighters checked the structure and tested for carbon monoxide; none was detected. Cause: possible sewer gas. Time out: 55 minutes.

Jan. 7: 7:36 p.m., ready squad responded to 1820 26th Ave., Titan Machinery, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was detected. Cause: systems malfunction. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 30 minutes.
