Jamestown students place in French contest

Jamestown High School and Middle School students recently participated in the national French contest, Le Grand Concours. Students from Jamestown High School and Jamestown Middle School recently participated in the national French contest, Le Grand Concours. The one-hour aural and written French test is given in the spring each year.

Alexandria Leiferman, daughter of Thomas and Tanya Leiferman, won sixth place in French I in North Dakota, and ranks 26th in the nation. Levi Donegan Wahl, son of Reese Wahl and Angie Englund, won seventh place in French I in North Dakota and ranks 28th in the nation. Ligia Schulz, daughter of Joyce and Mike Schulz, won third in North Dakota in French II and ranks 16th in the nation. Rameses Rhoad, son of John and Sarah Rhoad, won fifth in North Dakota, in French II and ranks 18th in the nation.

Trophies, medals or certificates were awarded to the winners by the National Association of Teachers of French. These Jamestown High School students are the students of Dianne Strand. Students from Fargo, Grand Forks, Bismarck and Jamestown participated in the contest.
