JHS presenting play of a different style
Under the direction of Jay Nitschke and Barb Hogan the drama department of Jamestown High School is stepping out with a different style of play.
This year's production, "30 Reasons Not To Be In A Play," is a comedy by Alan Haehnel and produced by special ar-rangement with Play-scripts Inc. The play allows for the actors to create several different characters by changing their voice and body.
This play is a play about not being in a play, ironically expressed through a series of comedic monologues, duets and ensemble scenes. Haehnel shows that stage kisses, pinkeye and inciting World War III are only a few of the many things that can go wrong during the production of a play.
In a series of funny examples, this play proves that drama can be a very dangerous thing and it must be avoided at all costs.
The production is at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Nov. 21-22. Tickets at the door are $5 for adults and $3 for students and children. Activity tickets will also be accepted.
