Jimmies beat MSU, to play for championship

Email

Through 25 innings, the Jimmies have yet to trail at the North Star Athletic Association/Frontier Conference tournament in Valley City.

Of course, when the pitcher allows nothing, that tends to happen.

Jason Shaw fired a sparkling four-hit shutout as 25th-ranked University of Jamestown blanked Mayville State 5-0 on Sunday to move into Monday’s championship game.

It was the fourth shutout of the season for Shaw, who is 5-0 with a sub-2.00 earned run average.
