Jimmies nab NSAA awards
A banner week for the Jimmie baseball team led to a pair of awards on Monday.
The Jimmies went 10-1 last week in Tucson, Ariz., improving to 11-3 overall.
Skowronek, a senior from Gilbert, Ariz., went 15-for-36 on the trip. The Jimmies’ leadoff hitter and second baseman, also walked five times, stole two bases and had a triple.
Dahl, a sophomore from West Fargo, allowed just three runs on eight hits in 14 strong innings on the mound. He also struck out 17 batters, improving his record to 2-1 on the season.
The Jimmies have doubleheaders scheduled Friday at Briar Cliff, Iowa and Saturday at Midland University, Neb. They close the trip Saturday with one game against Morningside, Iowa.

Seniors Carly Jensen and Morgan Mathison from the Jimmie women’s basketball team have been named NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
Jensen averaged 8.4 points per game, finishing her career with 1,034 points.
A minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and at least junior academic status is required to qualify for the award.
Mathison totaled 573 points over her four seasons, averaging 5.7 points per game for the Jimmies, who tied a school record with 27 wins and advanced to the Sweet 16 for the fourth time in five years at the national tournament in Sioux City, Iowa.

The Jimmie softball team is off this week after finishing their 13-game swing through Tucson on a high note.
Coach Kevin Gall’s team won their final four games on the trip.
The Jimmies (7-9) are off until back-to-back doubleheaders on March 26 at Morningside in Sioux City, Iowa, and the following day at Dakota Wesleyan in Mitchell, S.D., on March 27.
The Jimmies’ home-opener is scheduled for April 6.
