Jimmies at No. 3 alone

The Jimmie women are now alone at No. 3.

After sharing the No. 3 ranking in the NAIA Division II top 25 rankings last week with Davenport, Mich., the 16-1 Jimmies are alone this week. The Jimmies’ 343 points in voting is two better than Davenport. The No. 3 ranking is the best in school history.

The only teams ahead of the Jimmies remain co-No. 1s St. Francis, Ind. (18-0) and 17-0 Northwestern. The 17-0 Red Raiders are the only team to beat the Jimmies, coming back on Nov. 1 at the Civic Center.

The Jimmies host Johnson & Wales, Colo., on Thursday. The Tigers are 8-12 on the season.

The Jimmie men also play on Thursday. They also have a newly ranked team on the schedule. No. 25 Ashford, Iowa (14-6) will play here on Sunday. Game times are 2 and 4 p.m.

Elsewhere in the rankings, the Mayville State women moved up to No. 18. The Comets are 13-2. The Jimmies host Mayville State Jan. 22.
