Jamestown North Dakota 121 3rd St NW 58401

Pat Nord missed Wednesday’s dual against Northern State due to injury.

It appears he’s feeling pretty good now, though.

The University of Jamestown senior steamrolled to the 165-pound title at the Cusatis Open in Hastings, Neb. on Saturday.

Nord, a senior from Enderlin, won his first two matches by pin then rolled in the semis with a major decision. The championship match was a little more work, but Nord defeated Jordon Ward of Bethany (Kan.) 3-1 to finish it off.

Pat NordNord’s 4-0 day led the Jimmies to a strong team finish in the 17-squad field. The team standings were based on pins and the Jimmies had nine of the day to finish sixth overall.

Bethany (21), Nebraska-Kearney (21) and Northwestern, Iowa (15) topped the field.

Dillon Kifer had a busy and successful day at 149.

The sophomore from Little Falls, Minn., went 4-2 with a pair of pins en route to a fifth-place finish.

Heavyweight Alejandro Ruelas picked up three wins and placed fourth. His second win came by fall and took just 51 seconds.

Andre Aguinaga came out hot at 125, winning by fall and then a narrow 2-1 decision, but three losses followed.

Julian Gallegos split his four matches at 165, and he worked hard for the first win, earning a pin at the 5- minute, 59-second mark.

Zach Pickering (157) and Brian Kaehler (197) were each 1-2 with a pin. Coby Horner (133), and Jaykob Miller (174) also went 1-2.

The Jimmies return to action Saturday at the Dickinson State Open.
