Jimmies sign Hawaii native
The University of Jamestown track and field program has signed Skye Ombac of Waiakea High School in Hilo, Hawaii, announced Wednesday.
She was the team MVP this past season in cross country and competes in the 300 hurdles, sprints, 800-meter run and both the long and triple jumps, as well as relays in the spring.
“I am really looking forward to meeting Skye and showing her Jamestown,” Jamestown coach Jim Clark said. “She is excited about the college experience and I am happy to have her in both cross country and track and field. She will be pursuing a demanding academic field, but she has done well at Waiakea High School with a 3.70 gpa and is in the top 15% of her class. I think she is up to the challenge.”
Ombac plans to study pre-physical therapy and is the daughter of Deborah and Edgar Ombac.
