JRFD extinguishes small grass fire Sunday

The Jamestown Rural Fire Department put out a small grass fire Sunday afternoon.

At about 4:17 p.m., the JRFD received a call about a small grass fire approximately a mile and a half east of the Interstate 94 exit to Bloom, said Capt. Ben Maulding of the JRFD.

Four firefighters were dispatched in two grass rigs and had the fire out in about 5 minutes.

“It was really very, very small,” Maulding said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
