Kiwanis reviews youth guidelines

Krysten Perkins showed a film on protecting the youth at the recent Kiwanis meeting. It is to be reviewed on an annual basis. Questions were raised on various areas in which the club works with the youth.

President Janna Bergstedt called the meeting to order with 26 members attending. Don Caine led the group singing accompanied by Sharon Caine. Tim Burchill collected “Happy Dollars” for the Elminate Program.

Sharon Caine announced the club has reached its goal for the Eliminate Project and the funds will be delivered to the MN-Dak District Convention in Minnetonka Aug. 8-10. The Caines and the Burchills will attend the meeting.

The blood drive that was held at Ave Maria Village and chaired by Jan Barnes and Becca Spenningsby went well. There were 135 volunteers, and 111 were able to give. Nine people were first-time givers. There were 141 units collected.

Kiwanis is now meeting at the Quality Inn & Suites for the next six weeks. The club meets at noon every Monday and welcomes visitors. To join the meeting as a guest, or for any other information, email JamestownKiwanis or visit
